Shrouded Mountain

A Becker Great songwriting throughout. Cool vocal harmonies to start things out on Megalyth, the flute featured in Verne really highlights the bands prog elements and it makes a strong candidate for the best track on the album. But I give the nod to the closer, Mammoth God which successfully maintains a great energy level throughout a full 12 minutes. Very well written. Favorite track: Mammoth God.

Eden Kupermintz Incredibly fuzzy album for fans of everything psychedelic/post metal. It manages to avoid the pitfalls of the two genres by adding a lot of influences from King Crimson, Gentle Giant and other classic progressive stuff. Gives it an energy and a variety that's hard to come across. Favorite track: Mammoth God.

The Phantom Bunburyist
The Phantom Bunburyist thumbnail
The Phantom Bunburyist Shrouded Mountain ascends a very different path compared to the voyage of Oceans into Ashes, but it does so with just as much musical mastery and reverence for the unnamed numen that drives Maeth to compose with unmatched passion. Favorite track: Mammoth God.

about

“Shrouded Mountain is indeed a massive escarpment veiled in mist. But this mountain has a molten core that seethes just below the surface. The album’s hypnotic riffs, despair-laden vocals, and soaring flute work are emphasized by dense, polyrhythmic percussion, which all come together to craft an epic narrative of primal goblin battles, loss, and tattered hope.” – J.J. Anselmi / New Noise Magazine

"Shrouded Mountain, is the sonic equivalent to knocking down a mountain and building it back up again. This record finds the band flexing their post-metal muscle, making the ebbs and flows of their signature aural growth and decay feel more effortless and natural than ever." - Jordan Jerabek / Heavy Blog is Heavy
